A different way to say I love you. Real Wedding inspiration: Lisa and Chad

While upon first glance, you would never look at this couple in any other way than the ordinary. After taking a deeper look, they are anything but. Congratulations Lisa and Chad, 07/26/2008.

Fortunately for everyone, love speaks through all. The expression of their love spoke through their hands and can be felt just by looking at the bride and groom. American Sign Language was used to interpret their vows and for the guests and to each other. Their two nephews signed a 1-10/ A to Z story, which is considered ASL poetry to the Deaf Community.

Theirs was one of the most beautiful weddings I've seen when checking out the local Knot boards. When Lisa posted the link to her wedding photography, I was floored. The weather was perfect for their ceremony, and the Mississippi Dunes Golf Links fit the couple's love of the outdoors. The photography was done by Lori Momberg.

Petals for the Fellas

Boutonnieres are the finishing touch to your groom's attire. Often times it adds just the right amount of character to the suit or tux to really get that wedding look. A range of flowers can be used, or even none at all. While we are a far cry away from the carnation, we are seeing the creative side of florists speak to the lapels of grooms everywhere.

I've sampled a few here from local florists, and a flower alternative from Etsy.

Rehearsal Dinner Dress up!

I was out and about shopping on Friday, and I found a great dress for a great price. It was Maggie London. I loved the classic styles with a bit of a fresh taste to the silhouettes. For your evening with loved ones before your big day, the dresses are the perfect fit!

These dresses were found from the Macy's website, and can also be purchased from Herbergers.

Make me up!

Wedding day beauty can be a bummer if your fake eyelashes fall off, your lipstick smears, or you blush streaks. Here is a listing of Sephora's Best Sellers. MN Sephora stores are located at the Mall of America, Ridgedale Mall, Eden Prairie Center, and Rosedale Mall.

Bare Escentuals Mineral Foundation - mineral makeup that does not contain mica to reflect in your wedding day photography.

Smashbox(one of my persona favs) Photo Finish Foundation Primer - fills in pores, smoothes skin, and holds foundation in place. Special formula also allows for good finish for photography, thus the name!

NARS Powder Blush (shown in Orgasm) - Top selling color that looks great on every skin tone and worth every penny! Another great color is Deep Throat.

Dior DiorShow Mascara - Runway's #1 secret! The brush is bigger than most, and amplifies lashes with length and volume.

Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion - If you want to extend the wear of your eye shadow until the last dance, this is your product. Eye shadow holds to this product without creasing or fading.

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler - If your eyelashes need a boost of height and curl, this is your best friend.

Smashbox Eye Shadow Trio - great color combos that can accent and highlight your eyes.

Benefit Boxed Powder Collection (Hoola) - If you want your tan to look natural, this powder is a good option for just the right touch of sun, minus the rays!

Wallet Exchange

Stumped on groomsmen gifts? Well the gift card and wallet combo is interchangeable for your entire bridal party. Best Buy, Macy's, or wherever else men are likely to shop is a good place to stock up on gift cards. Load the wallet up, and you have a customized package where everyone is a winner.
Here are some wallets that have an urban feel, and can be exchanged easily like sandwiches at lunchtime. DB Clay has multiple styles for the groomsmen's personality types. Simple, dapper, fun, charmer, whatever they may be.

Inspiration Wedding: Kristi and John

Here is a wedding that is inspiring for any DIY'er. It is a perfect example of a well crafted, beautiful day. Kristi and John were married on May 10, 2008. The weather was what some would call unforgiving; Kristi found the opportunity to turn it into a creative photo op. More than that, the couple shines with love throughout the entire day. The colors and vibrancy of the wedding puts the sun to shame, and it is no wonder it was hiding that day.

My particular favorite details include her birdcage veil, and handmade bolero. Also, the Sweet Memories guest book was an obvious hit. Their friends and family look as though they are having the best time of their life. A successful wedding for a happy couple.

Congratulations Kristi and John! Best wishes and many great years to come!!
